The House

The Lundy House was designed and built in 1974. The land was purchased directly from Mrs. Paepcke and the house was designed by renowned architect, Victor A. Lundy with significant input from his wife, noted Houston watercolorist, Anstis Lundy.

The house, as you can see from the Layout page, is essentially a square with 2 walls solid brick and the other 2 walls solid glass. This makes the house very light and naturally solar efficient. The kitchen has marble counters, is on the opposite wall from the fireplace and backs up to the bedrooms. There are 2 bedrooms with floor to ceiling glass alcoves stacked on top of each other, each with its own full beautiful marble bathroom, and another full bathroom in the basement. The basement has a full size washer/dryer and plenty of storage.

With an open 'great room' living area, with a 20 foot ceiling, one can easily converse, cook, dine and enjoy the fire all at the same time.

The yard is planted as a natural garden with native flowers, trees and bushes that make a fence unnecessary.

You will be impressed indeed, with the structure and the beautiful surroundings.
